Theme Day: Paths and Passages

foot_bridge
For theme day I took a photo of this foot bridge built in 1949 that allows pedestrians to cross over a 4 lane divided highway. The interesting thing is the location of this bridge. On the far side is a residential area consisting of roughly 25 homes. On the near side there is a shopping plaza. What I'm baffled by is why the city or state would go to such expense to service a handful of people. The only reason I could think of is maybe it was built by the company Foster Grant which was near the area which is now a shopping mall. It is possible that these homes were Foster Grant employees.

Theme Day: Best of …

Happy New Year!!!

This month's theme day is "Best photo of the year 2008". Since I only have been running this blog since November 1st I found that "best of" was easy to choose. This photo was post processed for a contest I entered on another site. The original I posted on December  12th which you can see at this link here.

Theme Day: Circles/Spheres

circle_and_spheres
December 1st is Theme Day in the City Daily Photo community with 187 blogs participating. This month's theme is 'Circles/Spheres'. My first thought was to stage something such as bubbles or balls. But they don't have much to do about the city of Leominster so I decided against it. Took me awhile to come up with something for this theme. I practically stumble upon my theme while talking to my wife and walking into a 'sphere' in front of the department store Target.
