When the stars line up ….
You get to see something like this!
A string of events led me to have this opportunity to take these photo's this morning. Last weekend while visiting the Norwottuck Rail Trail, we saw a hot air balloon. Michelle made the comment on how neat it would be to go for a hot air balloon ride. Fast forward to Thursday and I find my self at Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua looking for a monopod for my camera. I happened to notice a flier for hot air balloon rides. Being Michelle and my 21st anniversary I thought that would make a good gift. I booked a flight and we will be go up weather permitting on October 10th. So last night I search the web to see if there were any local hot air balloon festivals happening. Lo and behold, there is one today in Hudson which is only 15 miles away.
Not bothering to set my alarm I decided to let things roll as they will. I'm not much of a morning person, so a 6:00 AM launch was questionable. My eyes popped open at 5:29 AM leaving enough time to make it over to Hudson.
Well worth waking up early for.
I was home in time to bring coffee and doughnuts to the rest of the family as they woke up

Seems we were at the same event, but I couldn’t get up in time for the early morning lift off, but I did make it just in time for the 6 p.m. lift off. I posted a photo of it today. I especially love your shot over the water. Where was that?

I don’t know the area too well. As I was driving up to the Elks I happen to notice a family standing on a bridge at a park probably 1/4 mile before the Elks. When I got to the Elks I saw the direction that the balloons were going and figured the bridge would be a good spot. For the first 15 minutes or so I was the only photographer there then a camera club showed up
. I got a few more nice captures that I will post later on this week.
