My Wolrd Tuesday

Today is a historic day in my corner of the world. It is the Inauguration of our 44th President of The United States. President Barack Obama will be our countries first African American president.
I personally did not vote for President Obama. My views are very conservative and I do not agree with a lot of Obama's views. I will have to say though I do like some of the things he has done already. He has surround himself with moderate people. Then naming Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State was a surprising move. I suppose it falls into that adage 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'.
For me the scariest thing is having a one party system. Massachusetts has been a liberal state for a long time and is currently a one party state. A good debate needs two sides in order to be good. Lately it seems all my state has been good for is producing felons.
Life experiences that I've been through has aligned me with the right. It does not mean that I can't have an open mind or liberal tendencies and thoughts. Even though I do not agree with Obama's views, I think he is a very intelligent person. I believe he will do this country good. I would not want to be in his shoes.
The President has a very difficult task in front of him. Last night I went to our local mall and counted the empty stores. There was a total of 5 retail spots already vacated and 2 with going out of business signs that will be closed soon. There were also 6 empty kiosks throughout a normally full mall. Every week we hear of major corporations being in trouble. The economy is in the worst state that most of us has ever seen.
Enough of the politics for today. This is not a political blog nor do I want it to be. We are living history today and felt I had to write about it.

Very good observation. I live in an area that is over run by a liberal local government. There lack of common sense just to be progressive is sometimes mind bongling.

A historic event indeed. No matter our political persuasions, we all need to take responsibility for America. (Amercians, anyway.) I liked his address that pointed this out. I hope the people were really listening!

Time has a way of going slow and feeling like everything is the same, and then all of a sudden it all changes. Patience is always the key.

Hey you, live a little! Change is never a bad thing — and what this country needed more than anything was a fresh outlook!
