  3. @Tanya ~ This church was built in 1891 replacing a baptist church that burnt down. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Worshiping at this church did not last long though.

    As indoor plumbing became commonplace, the city of Boston found they had a shortage of water. In 1897, a dam was built in Clinton at the Nashua River. Six and 1/2 square miles were flooded in the towns of Boylston, West Boylston, Clinton and Sterling becoming the largest water supply in the world at that time. The Old Stone Church remained standing as the last remnant of the town which was once in the valley, but was now flooded by the new reservoir.
